Curriculum Vitae
Objective
To obtain a city position that best utilizes my skills and experience in public health, mental health advocacy, and the arts.
Experience
Peer Counselor, Richmond Area Multi-Services
Behavioral Health Services, San Francisco Department of Public Health
July 2015-present
In my capacity as Peer Counselor at a Support Service Site in San Francisco's Tenderloin neighborhood, I co-facilitate an art group and provide resources and referrals for shelter, food, and mental health care. The residents and neighbors inspire me in my own art practice.
Peer Counselor, Pathways to Discovery
Community Behavioral Health Services, San Francisco Department of Public Health
March 2012-June 2015
My duties include case management and the development and implementation of art classes. I also conduct outreach in San Francisco's Tenderloin neighborhood and facilitate art groups in residential care facilities. I am a member of several committees advocating for the principles of wellness and recovery, and consumer needs and rights. In this capacity I also do public speaking to promote these values. A large percentage of my time is spent working with mental health clients, utilizing the arts as a tool to foster dialogue.
Receptionist and Clerk
Community Behavioral Health Services, San Francisco Department of Public Health
December 2009-March 2012
As a receptionist I was responsible for answering phones, organizing schedules, interfacing between staff and public, internal and external referrals to services, and myriad other customer service and clerical duties. I gained fluency in DPH.net directories, Microsoft Office and FileMaker Pro organizational and database software.
